The latest excerpts from our Blog: (More Blogs) School is In, Is there still time for boating? School just started for most children in the last few days. That doesn't mean its time to put away the boat for the season. There are still two weeks until Labor Day and plenty of time to get your boating in before fall hits. The water is still warm from those hot days in August. So what are you waiting for? Should you find that you are one of those boaters whose boat has been out of commission either all season or just recently, get your Kansas City area boat repaired quick. The service department at US Boatworks has a short turn around time at the present time. If you get your boat in for serivce early in the week, we can probably have you back on the water by the weekend. We are also open on Saturday till noon should you need to drop off or pick up your boat on the weekend. A popular repair this time of year is a lower unit repair. Often times the lower unit gets damaged due to debris or trees in the water. We stock most all brands of lower units for replacement. Some of the major brands we carry are Mercury lower units, Mercruiser stern drives, Evinrude lower units, OMC sterndrives and Volvo sterndrives. You can choose from new lower units or a remanufactured lower unit. I explain the difference and show pricing on our website at http://boatengine.com/lower-units.html. If you are a do-it-yourselfer and want to work on your boat yourself, we have thousands of boat parts in stock. Our parts inventory includes a large selection of older model boat parts or vintage boat parts. Additionally, we carry many NLA, no longer available boat parts for both outboard and sterndrive motors. We ship parts throughout the US and our shipping rates are reasonable. Call our parts department at 913-342-0011 or send us an email to parts@boatengine.com and let us know how we can help you. As always, happy boating. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ So, how is the boating industry doing in 2010? I came across this recording on Twitter. http://podcast.mktw.net/audio/20100706/RNR070610/RNR070610.mp3. Its a brief description of how the boating industry is doing in 2010. As one would expect, in 2009 and 2010, people are still boating, they are just maintaining and fixing their existing boats. Already owning a boat makes for a nice vacation that could prove to be less expensive than traveling long distances and paying airfare. Families newly entering boating as a hobby are more likely starting out with a used boat, maybe a fixer-upper, to get into boating relatively inexpensively. In past blogs I have offered tips for anyone looking to buy a used boat. These tips on how to buy a used boat are located on our web site at http://www.boatengine.com/usedboattips.htm. Here you can read in detail what you need to look for in a quality used boat. Once you buy that boat, US Boatworks is a great place to service you boat. We can tune up your engine and look over it to make sure you are ready to get out in the water for a day of fun. US Boatworks offers certified Evinrude, Mercury and Mercruiser mechanics all with over 20 years experience. Give US Boatworks a chance to meet your boat repair needs. If are not close to our Kansas City boat repair shop or if you are a do-it-yourselfer, we have thousands of boat parts in stock that we can ship anywhere in the US. Our shipping rates are reasonable, we charge our cost to get the part to you skipping that crazy shipping mark up you see at other boat shops. Have an older boat motor with hard to find boat parts? We also can help with that too. US Boatworks stocks thousands of hard to find, no longer available, obsolete boat parts. Email us your needs at parts@boatengine.com or call 913-342-0011. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Happy Birthday America! The 4th of July has come and gone and I did not get a chance to wish our amazing country "Happy Birthday". America is a beautiful country blessed by God and we are very fortunate to be a part of it. In the past years, the 4th of July in the boating industry is the beginning of a slow winding down of the boating season. I'm not so sure the season is going to slow down anytime soon. When we arrived to work today, we had 4 customers waiting at the door at 8:40, we don't open until 9 am. Today we had the more lower unit sales than any other day this year. These sales were mainly for OMC, Evinrude, Johnson Lower Units although we sell many Mercury/Mercruiser lower units and gearcases. If you are in need of a lower unit, which many boaters in the Mid-West are because of the number of trees in our lakes and rivers, I am confident that we can help you out. We have many lower units and gear cases in stock ready to ship out within 24-48 hours. We also offer core rebates to help save you money when you send us your old core. Check out our web site at www.boatengine.com/lower-units.com and give us a call at 913-342-0011. Happy Boating. God Bless America! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On my last blog, I commented about the number of boats traveling on I-70 between Denver and Kansas City. So, on our way back home, the kids & I counted all the boats we saw. 39 boats were spotted along I-70 last Sunday. We saw a huge concentration of boats in central Kansas and wondered where they were going. We noticed signs for Wilson Lake and decided that a lot of boaters in Central Kansas go to that lake. Upon doing some quick research I found that Lake Wilson features clear blue water and excellent striper fishing so that is a huge plus for fishermen and boaters of all kinds. So, if your one of the many boaters who live in central Kansas and boat at Wilson Lake, US Boatworks, can meet all of your boat parts and boat repair needs. We are located in Kansas City and we ship parts throughout the US. US Boatworks offers certified Evinrude, Mercury and Mercruiser mechanics all with over 20 years experience. Give US Boatworks a chance to meet your boat repair needs. US Boatworks is a great place to get any boat part for your boat engine. We stock thousands of new, hard to find, or obsolete boat parts. We ship these parts anywhere in the US so feel free to give us a call (913- 342-0011)or send us an email at parts@boatengine.com if you are not in town. (link) |
