CORE EXCHANGE POLICY on New Stern Drives and Outboard Lower Units:

The purpose of a core deposit is to give you money back on your old unit should you decide to participate.   Initially, the core deposit amount is included on all order totals whether you participate or not.  Once you return all of the appropriate core parts, we evaluate those parts then refund the core deposit to you within 30 days of receipt of your old core.  Please review the full procedures below.

 

CORE EXCHANGE PROCEDURE

Included in the box is a “Core Return Shipping Form”.  Complete this form and return it with the core using the original packing box.  

If we do not receive your return core within 30 days, your core deposit will be retained.

 

 

 

   CORE DEPOSIT REFUND AMOUNT
  • The three main components of the lower unit are the:
    • housing
    • vertical drive shaft
    • horizontal prop-shaft
  • Core deposits are determined as follows:
    • 70% of the core value is returned for a defective free housing
    • 15% of the core value is returned for a good drive-shaft
    • 15% of the core value is returned for a good prop-shaft
    • Thus, if all 3 parts are reusable, 100% of the core deposit is returned

All of the parts must be present regardless of the condition to be eligible for the deposit return.
